| Distorted Thinking |
Distorted thinking refers to automatic thought patterns based in unsound reasoning. A person’s thoughts actually distort reality. It is one of the most common sources of inappropriate anger. In order to reduce distorted thinking and consequently reduce anger a person must become aware of when they are practicing it. In order for a person to recognize when they are practicing this behavior they can pay attention to the little conversations they have with themselves throughout the day. Almost always a created negative self conversation may consist of some types of distorted thinking. Negative self talk is the key indicator. |
